What To See
Sulmona, with its old and important history, rich of monuments and museums, boasts the production of its famous Pelino almonds since 1783. And besides Sulmona can boast important manifestations and habits, such as:
- The procession of dead Christ (on Good Friday)
- The Holy Mary who runs in the main square (Domenica di Pasqua)
- La Giostra Cavalleresca of Sulmona and Europa
AMONG THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LOCATIONS TO BE VISITED DON’T FORGET THE FOLLOWING:
- Scanno “The pearl of Abruzzo” classified one of the most exciting district in Italy. Very suggestive is the natural lake (the biggest of the region) in the shape of heart;
- Pettorano sul Gizio “Medieval District on a castle”. It is possible to visit the regional natural reserve Monte Genzana alto Gizio;
- Rivisondoli about 30/40 minutes far away the hotel. It’s a famous town for its living crib that takes place January 5th;
- Anversa degli Abruzzi it’s about 20 minutes from Sulmona. It is possibile to see Cavuto’s Springs (oasi del WWF) in theSagittario’s Gorge;
- Caves of Stiffe - San Demetrio dei Vestini (AQ).
